Southwestern Vermont Selected for Next Round of GROW Relocation and Retention Program

Southwestern Vermont is continuing its effort to attract and retain new residents through Vermont’s Grants for Relocation Outreach Work (GROW) program. The Southwestern Vermont Chamber was one of 15 organizations selected for the program’s second funding cycle and is participating in both the relocation and retention tracks.

The initiative connects people considering Vermont with local assistance around employment, housing, child care and community life, while also helping those who have already relocated build relationships and put down roots. In its first two years, GROW helped 95 families — 193 new Vermonters — relocate to the state. For Southwestern Vermont, the program represents an important piece of a broader workforce strategy: attracting people is important, but creating the connections that encourage them to stay is just as critical to long-term economic growth.
